Flush casement windows: Why are they “the future”? (Demo)

Casement-Window

A recent post by Double Glazing Blogger recently made the claim that uPVC flush casement windows are the future. Here at Albion Windows, we agree with this. Here are some reasons why we think they are a great window innovation which every home can enjoy.

What are flush casement windows?

Flush casement windows are classic casement windows where the sash sits flat against the frame. This resembles traditional 19th century timber windows and gives an attractive even appearance. They provide all the beauty of original timber windows without the hassle. The popularity of timber over recent years has increased, however homeowners often prefer the low maintenance aspect that uPVC provides. The aesthetics of timber combine with the technological benefits of uPVC to create a beautiful window that doesn’t compromise on performance. These are the perfect choice for those living in period properties and we will work with you to gain planning permission if this is required.

What benefits do they offer?

The first obvious benefit is the appearance of this window style. Boasting clean sightlines and a smooth finish; these windows appear less bulky than other uPVC styles sometimes can. As they are made of uPVC, they are practically maintenance free and just require a quick clean to keep them looking as good as new. Unlike timber they cannot discolour or warp.

They are extremely efficient as thermal insulators as well as their multi-chambered profile effectively traps heat. When combined with our double or triple glazing, these windows can easily reach an energy rating of A+. As well as keeping your home warm, this will save you money on your energy bills too. You will find yourself requiring your heating less and less over time.

As well as their attractive sash, customisation is available with a wide range of colours such as Chartwell Green and Eternal Oak. Georgian astragal bars can also be added to give a heritage feel to your home. Add the fact that uPVC is often vastly more affordable than timber and you have a beautiful window that ticks all the boxes.
